History is made every day in the landscape that surrounds us and the air that we breathe.

My name is Susan Crofts and my goal is to preserve some of the recent history of my home town. Most of my writing to date has been non-fiction, but I also write fiction in the form of short stories and fairy fantasy.

I live in a small town in the Wide Bay Burnett region of Queensland, Australia.  It's called Mundubbera, a name which is popularly believed to mean either "A Meeting Place Of The Waters" or "Footsteps In The Trees".  Both interpretations are derived from local aboriginal dialects - Mundubbera is located on two rivers, the Burnett and the Boyne, so it is a meeting place of waters; and there are still giant trees today which bear the notches carved in them by the early aboriginal people to allow them to gain access to native honey - the footholds in the trees.

My books contain both past and living history, from the beginnings of white settlement  in the Mundubbera area to the 2013 flood that almost tore our town apart.

I'm self-published, but my dream is to find a publisher for my first novel -  the combined books of Annysia and Oren: "The Faerie's Tale" and "The Elf's Tale". My fantasy writing is in its infancy. Since the fae impose no deadlines, my tale unfolds at its own sweet pace. Watch for this novel in the near future: the fae are feeding me so much inspiration that I can sense the book coming to an end soon. You can read more about this project  and others on the WORKS IN PROGRESS page of my site.

Stories can be real or imagined: sometimes truth is more amazing than fantasy.

In my world both exist and complement one other.
